Sometimes, just occasionally you come across a real diamond while
rummaging in the souks. Just this week not even
intentionally, rushing along something caught my eye. I stopped, blinked, did a u turn and there it was a beautiful brown
Beni Ouarain Rug. Very unusual a real piece, not often you find a brown one like this. The colour combination with the black and cream and the regular but random pattern and colour give this rug more character than you can shake a stick at.

I love the cream and black lines on the edges and the sporadic cream dots.

At each end and each angle it looks completely different, i found it really hard to photograph, non seemed to do it justice. The problem i have with photos is you
don't get the energy these pieces have.

You'll have to trust me on this one. Contact me for further info, if you think its a stunning as i do!
Oh by the way there is a fab article on
Gerbhart Blazek's website which
I've been meaning to tell you about. It's called White Giants, go have a read it's
fascinating information about these
Beni rugs and the tribes who make them.
