Modern Design Beni Ourain Berber Carpets

Image
Hey I just wanted to share this stunning new Beni with you. It has pretty blue lines running through it which I just love, the blue lines are deep as they are a combination of 3 different blues. The rest of the natural wool give the carpet a nice landscape of beige shades . Love it!!

Zamzam Boutique - Moroccan Cusions

I'm so into these gorgeous Moroccan cusions. There are some wonderful colours out there and I particularly love the big rectangular ones which look gorgeous on a bed adding extra texture and colour. This embroidery can also be made on large rectangular poufs which are stunning. In the top photo you can see one of my Juju hats from the Cameroon, I just love love them. They are used for ceremonies by tribal elders and I have been waiting for a year for them to come, they are finally here!! and I have been so over excited by them. I have a citrus lemon one which I didn't like at first but it looks stunning like a giant sunflower on the wall . Being born in Uganda and growing up in Nigeria the deapth of my soul is in African art but it looks so good mixing it with modern textiles and design. Magnificent Beni Ouarain - Morocco

My gosh this is one of the prettiest carpets I have seen, granted it is not old, but beautifully made beyond believe. Lovely contrasting tones of cream and beige with a beautiful blue design running through it. The blue wool had 3 tones in it to give it real depth. I just love it. These can be made to measure for you. I bought these two unusual beauties today this one with very subtle brown lines running through it and the other with slightly darker lines. They are pretty old and in great condition. Visit the Zamzam Boutique to see the full stock.

Hanout - stunning design for women Marrakech

Today at last I managed to visit my friend Meriem's shop "Hanout" – which means ‘the shop’ in Moroccan. It is absolutely stunning.  A gorgeous range or clothes  with something for everyone and a grea mix of modern Moroccoan. It is located underneath the restaurant - Terrasse des Espices with another selection of  pretty boutique shops so it makes for a good afternoon out shopping with lunch. The address is No.8 Gallery Cherifia, first floor, Sidi Abdelaziz. (Tel: 0524 384366 / 0648 129738). It is open everyday from 10:30 / 18:30 except Tuesday when the Gallery is closed. The shop sells her own ladies design collection - as well as other select designer clothes, hand bags and jewelry. I am really fussy on jewelry but her selection wa gorgeous and I am going back to buy one of her necklaces and spend more trying on as I was sadly with my husband! Her collection includes a stunning range of beautiful kaftans, tunics, trousers all cut in silk fabri
